The Middle Time

In the past few weeks Stephe and I have started chipping away at tasks like the music list, invitation design, decorations, and ceremony details. We have also successfully collected enough plates so that everyone who may attend our festivity will have something to eat off of. Excellent. In the midst of all the planning we have found fun ways to work on wedding stuff on our days off.

This is a picture of the Golden Nugget flea market in Lambertville, NJ. Stephen and I went up to New Hope for a weekend and stopped there to collect some things for our big day. We purchased a neat vintage table cloth and some magical old keys. And more recently we spent Memorial Day on the river , working of ceremony specifics and food ideas. I'll leave you with this picture we took of ourselves. Have a great week.

In this economy...

One must be thrift.

Because the Wedding will be outdoors, with no one overseeing the goings-on aside from ourselves, much of the implements that would normally be rented, are having to be bought or... rethought.

All this weekend, IKEA held a 7% discount to offset sales tax. On top of the discount we already have from working there, now was the time to strike. Dani and I gathered up some of the reception essentials in bulk, and I had the pleasure of hauling it 1.1 miles it back to the house.

130 napkins, 48 candles/holders, 14 flat sheets (don't ask), 11 woven rugs, 8 pairs of mesh curtain, and 4 serving trays.

What a Day!

Stephe and I finished up the Save the Dates today and will be mailing them soon! Exciting.

Recently he and I went for a visit to our friends home, which is the site for our Wedding. Stephen and I met both Matt and Dan Spaeth in elementary school and shared much of our childhood passing time in the orchards or building bonfires in their backyard. The Spaeth's home is a place filled with many memories for both of us, and a lot of our friends.

Having our wedding there feels right for us. A comfortable place that has much to do with where we are today. We are grateful for Dan allowing us to have the Wedding at his home, and hope that our family and friends enjoy their time in the place Stephe and I grew up together.

Big Idea for our Big Day

Stephen and I wanted to let you take part in our wedding as the event approaches. We both have a design background and have approached our planning as we would any design problem. Here is a concept board created using images he and I have collected over the last year.
